Limited Edition: Organic Conference Konferenzstuhl von Vitra Charles Eames und Eero Saarinen entwarfen den Organic Chair gemeinsam für einen Wettbewerb des Museum of Modern Art in New York . Seine gepolsterte und organisch geformte Sitzschale war namengebend für den außerordentlich komfortablen Sessel. Aufgrund fehlender Produktionstechniken konnte der Stuhl jedoch erst 1950 in Serie gefertigt werden, wie die berühmten Plastic Armchairs von Eames und der Tulip Chair von Saarinen. Jetzt in einer ganz besonderen Farbe: Für die Eames Special Collection 2023 gibt es den weltberühmten Klassiker jetzt in einem neuen Gewand. Der Organic Conference wurde von Ray Eames’ Leidenschaft für Blumenarrangements inspiriert. Er ist in drei Farben aus dem Stoff Ria von Kvadrat mit floralem Muster erhältlich. Die Kollektion ist limitiert bis zum 31.01.24. Eero Saarinen & Charles Eames Eero Saarinen wurde 1910 in Finnland geboren als Sohn des Architekten Eliel Saarinen. Er studierte zunächst Bildhauerei in Paris und anschließend Architektur an der Yale University in New Haven . 1936 begann er im Architekturbüro seines Vaters mitzuarbeiten. Zu dieser Zeit erhielt er einen Lehrauftrag an der Cranbrook Academy in Bloomfield Hills und lernte dort Charles Eames kennen. Dieser experimentierte an Entwürfen von Möbeln aus verformtem Schichtholz . 1940 gewannen die beiden den ersten Preis beim Wettbewerb Organic Design in Home Furnishings („Organisches Design für Wohnraumausstattungen“) des Museum of Modern Art in New York. Material und Format Der Organic Chair besteht aus einer laminierten Sitzschale , die mit Polyurethanschaum und einem Stoffbezug ausgekleidet ist. Das Untergestell ist aus schwarzer Esche . Das Holz stammt aus Westeuropa und/oder Polen. Der Stuhl ist 72,5 cm breit, 61,5 cm tief und 93,5 cm hoch. Die Sitzhöhe liegt bei 42 cm. Bezugsmaterial: Stoff Ria: 84% Schurwolle (Kammgarn), 12% Viskose, 4% Nylon Hinweis: Dieser Artikel ist ein Ausstellungsstück.
