However this can change the attack of the drum when too much is added tone can also be affected by a dulling of the natural resonance and the weight of the dampeners can change the feel of the drum. Evans damping system is external allowing for the attack tone and feel to all remain intact.By attaching to the hoop the Min-EMAD links the hoop with the vibrating head reducing the motion of the head by mechanisms already at play rather than adding to.
