All pickups are wax sealed to reduce unwanted noise. The flat pole piece and no ladder base mean these pickups are suitable for both left-handed and right-handed guitars. Each pickup is designed for a specific position to match the increasing width between the strings and produce the ideal power for that position. This particular winding has the added advantage of keeping the ohm value about the same as an old-style wound single coil. These are single coil designs that are machine wound and calibrated with a magnetic field to produce twice the output inductance of a normal single coil, giving each set of pickups their own style.
