Synthetic engine oil of biological origin "Fuel Economy" designed for hybrid electric vehicles (H.E.V.) and plug-in electric vehicles (P.H.E.V.) with recent gasoline engines, supercharged or naturally aspirated, with direct or indirect injection, for SAE 0W-8 oil with low friction and HTHS viscosity (≥ 1.7 mPa.s). MOTUL NGEN HYBRID 0W-8 overcomes technical challenges of gasoline hybrid cars, such as fuel dilution, water emulsion, intensive stop/start and low temperature operation. It contains 25% organic base stock (100% renewable plant-based synthetics) and Motul's 50% recycled and 100% recyclable plastic packaging. This organic lubricant base, formulated with renewable non-fossil raw materials, limits the environmental impact and allows Motul to reduce its carbon footprint by 25% during manufacture. MOTUL NGEN qualifies Motul's sustainable ranges, using various technologies in formulation and packaging to reduce its carbon footprint. This formulation can also be used in petrol engines requiring a SAE 0W-8 or "Fuel Economy" viscosity 8 lubricant, with API SP and/or ILSAC GF-6A levels. Suitable for battery electric vehicles (B.E.V.) with petrol engine as "Range Extender". Compatible with catalytic converters and particulate filters. JASO GLV-1 is the first specification for Ultra Low Viscosity engine oil that demands very high fuel economy performance without compromising engine protection, even when using E85 gasoline. The SAE 0W-8 Viscosity grade severely minimises the hydrodynamic friction of the lubricant, allowing maximum fuel economy benefits to be obtained, especially when the oil is cold. This ultra-low viscosity grade also improves oil flow at start-up, provides faster oil pressure build-up and facilitates greater rpm agility and allows the oil to reach operating temperature more quickly. Formulated to meet the challenges of hybrid electric vehicles, such as HEVs, PHEVs and BEVs with Range Extender, with continuous use of the Stop/Start system in the different phases of operation. This mode of internal combustion engine operation in hybrid vehicles generates specific restrictions for the lubricant, such as fuel dilution, water emulsion, intensive use of the Start/Stop system and low oil temperature operation, leading to increased oxidation. It meets all these demanding requirements. In addition, it is environmentally friendly, reducing fuel consumption and minimising greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions. The specific base of NGEN HYBRID 0W-8 improves on all conventional API criteria, offering better cold starts, lower fuel consumption and better control of oil consumption.
