This speciality family offers unique filaments from Polymaker to unlock new 3D printing applications. PolyWood is made entirely of PLA using a special foaming technology. It has the same density and appearance as wood. PolyWood is a wood-like filament without real wood powder, which eliminates the risk of nozzle blockages. . Since the polywood contains no wood, it is possible to combine any colour with the material. The printed parts have an amazing surface finish and the optical layering is minimised. Other colours and materials are already in development. Polywood is the only 3D printable foam to date. The density of polywood is on average 0.8 g/cm3, which is about 35-40% less than PLA. Due to the low density, the component has a lower weight.
