Glasses
There is no definitive answer, as the best glasses for your face depend on your individual style and preferences. However, some general tips that may help you choose the right glasses for your face include:
- Avoid glasses that are too large or too small for your face. Instead, choose a pair that is proportional to your face size.
- If you have a round face, look for glasses with angular shapes to help slim down your face.
- If you have an oval face, you can pretty much pull off any style of glasses.
- If you have a square face, look for glasses that are round or oval in shape to help soften your features.
To clean your glasses, start by wetting them with warm water. Then, add a drop of dish soap to each lens and use your fingers to gently rub the soap into the lenses in a circular motion. Next, rinse your glasses with warm water and dry them with a clean, soft cloth. There's also the possibility to use a specific glasses cleaning solution that you can buy in pharmacies or optician's. Some of them come in a small spray bottle which can be practical. Or you can buy pre-moistened towelettes designed for cleaning glasses. Another yet more expensive solution is to buy an ultrasonic cleaning machine made specifically for cleaning glasses, jewellery and other delicate items. These ultrasonic cleaners use high-frequency sound waves to create vibrations in water that gently remove dirt and debris from your glasses.
Varifocals are glasses that have multiple focal points, allowing the wearer to see clearly at both near and far distances. These type of glasses are ideal for people who need vision correction for both distance and close-up tasks, such as reading. Normally, varifocals have three different focal points: one for distance, one for intermediate, and one for close-up. This kind of glasses is mostly used by people over 40 years old, as it's very common to start needing reading glasses around this age.
If your glasses are too loose and keep slipping down your nose, you can try one of the following methods to tighten them:
- Use clear nail polish: Apply a small amount of clear nail polish to the screws on the glasses frame and let it dry. This will help to secure the screws and make them less likely to loosen.
- Use clear packing tape: Wrap a small piece of clear packing tape around the bridge of the glasses (the part that goes over your nose). This will help to keep the glasses in place and prevent them from slipping.
- Use a rubber band: Wrap a small rubber band around the temples of the glasses (the part that goes over your ears). This will help to keep the glasses in place and prevent them from slipping.
There are a few reasons why blind people might wear dark glasses. Two are:
-To protect their eyes from the sun: Just like sighted people, blind people need to protect their eyes from the harmful UV rays of the sun.
-To prevent people from seeing their eyes: Some blind people feel self-conscious about their eyes and prefer to wear sunglasses to keep people from seeing them.
