Lamps from Anglepoise are characterised by very high quality and great functionality. Especially the unique spring makes it possible and easy to adjust the lamp to the exact position you want. The story behind Anglepoise starts in 1932 when George Carwardine invents the spring that is used for the Anglepoise lamps and begins to sell them. Sales increase rapidly and he seeks help from Herbert Terry and his sons. In 1933, Herbert Terry and sons get the license to manufacture the lamp from George Carwadine and that is still how the arrangement is today. Anglepoise has developed new designs throughout their history but the original version is still the most well-known of the
