In a fully integrated dishwasher, all the controls are located on the top of the inner door. As soon as you open the door, the entire range of functions is available to you as usual.

To let you know if the machine is still in the cleaning process, many models are equipped with a small projector that projects the remaining time or a red dot on the floor.

The entire dishwasher is hidden behind the kitchen front, which you purchase separately in the design of the rest of your kitchen units: oven, cooker, fridge, kitchen furniture. This way you benefit from a uniform appearance of your kitchen.

Partially integrable dishwashers differ from the fully integrable version in that the control panel is located on the front. This means that you still have to buy a furniture front, but the bar with the controls will be visible at all times.

Always follow the manufacturer's operating instructions when connecting the dishwasher. First check whether the desired installation location has the correct dimensions for the dishwasher and whether there is a power connection as well as a fresh water and waste water connection.

If all connections are available, turn off the respective water tap and complete the following steps:

• Connect the drain pipe to the drain connection.
• Attach the inlet pipe to the water tap.
• Connect the dishwasher to the power supply.

The drain connection is usually located directly at the siphon, i.e. the odour trap. Check that all connections are tight and that no water is leaking when you use the dishwasher for the first time.

The electricity and water consumption varies with the respective machine, for example due to different number of place settings, as well as the cleaning program you have selected. You can find the annual energy and water consumption of your machine directly on the energy label or in the product description. This is based on 280 standard wash cycles.

The dishwasher uses the dishwasher salt as a descaler to increase the life of the dishwasher thanks to the use of low-calcium, soft water. It also keeps your dishes free of those pesky limescale or water spots after cleaning. With each use, the machine will use up some salt, so after a certain amount of time, you'll need to refill the salt container with new salt.

In addition to the salt supply, it is important that you correctly adjust the water softener to the hardness of the water. More detailed information on this can be found in the operating instructions and from your local water supplier.

The cleaning time depends on the model and the programme selected. The Eco programme has a long runtime of two to four hours and is easy on your wallet because it uses less water and energy than other programmes.

If you're in a hurry, the Quick programme is the right choice. This usually takes less than an hour. With the normal cleaning mode, you'll get your dishes cleaned in about an hour and a half.

If your dishes are still dirty after cleaning, there are many reasons for this. The most common fault is incorrect loading of the machine. Make sure that the plates are not too close to each other and that the dishes do not overlap. Also, make sure the spray arms are not blocked, which can be the case with large saucepans or frying pans.

Also note other steps:

• Use enough dishwashing liquid.
• Clean the rinse arms as well as the strainer.
• Check the salt container and refill it if necessary.

Regular cleaning of a dishwasher includes rinsing the rack and checking the spray arms. This is the only way to guarantee that your dishes come out of the dishwasher clean and without unpleasant odours.

To do this, simply remove the strainer and spray arms and clean them in a sink with water, a little detergent and a sponge. Be sure to remove any food residue and make sure the nozzles of the rinse arms don't get clogged with lime scale. To do this, use citric acid or lime cleaner.

Furthermore, manufacturers recommend that you use the intensive programme at regular intervals to remove stubborn grease deposits. This also helps to prevent mould in the dishwasher.
