In 1815 at the age of 25 Joseph Chavasse created a distillery in the province of Mont Blanc. There, a wide range of Alpine flowers and herbs were available to him. In 1821 he created a new vermouth with Ugni Blanc and 17 different herbs and spices from the Alps and he named it Dolin Chambery.
