Binchotan (Japanese Oak) activated charcoal is the highest grade of charcoal. These charcoals are from the Kishu region of Japan. Excellent natural properties that help reduce odor and hardness from water, and filter for better tasting drinking water. Filtering time is approximately 3-4 hours. Slim binchotan charcoals are rare, and these have been specifically selected to fit through the mouth of personal water bottles. Use 1 stick for a personal water bottle, or use 2 sticks for a carafe. 1 stick can filter up to 750 ml (25.4 oz) of water. Reactivate charcoal every two weeks by boiling for 10 minutes and letting dry. Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality. 6 sticks of binchotan charcoal included per package.
