Can Sumoi La Rosa is a rosé wine crafted by Can Sumoi in Montmell, within the Penedès region. Can Sumoi represents the latest venture into natural wines by Raventós i Blanc. After departing the D.O. Cava in 2012, they sought the ideal location for producing this type of wine. At Can Sumoi, they discovered the perfect setting: a 400-hectare estate situated at an elevation of 600 metres. It boasts 20 hectares of vineyards with indigenous varieties such as sumoll and xarel·lo, the latter currently undergoing restoration. The estate also features three 18th-century farmhouses and an ancient winery. Here, Pepe Raventós, oenologist and viticulturist, aims to produce natural wines with a sense of place, capturing the true essence of the land and its landscape. To achieve this, he manages the entire estate biodynamically, crafting his wines by reviving rural traditions and refraining from adding any enological additives.
