Carl Zeiss Planar-ZM 50mm F2.0 T* Silver

Since always, the now famous Planar 50mm is the standard lens par excellence. Even though it isn’t autofocus, I still wanted to try it on a Leica. Result: five stars. I love it very much.

I carefully tested the Planar against the Summicron Version V. The image quality is at least comparable, with slightly better contrast. I find it also feels better in hand than the Summicron. The original Zeiss Streulich diaphragm is the top choice.

Really happy with the lens, gives sharp images, some vignetting but it adds a soul to the pictures. It gives rich and saturated colors. Much lighter than my voigtlander 35mm 1.2. I recommend.

At this price I know of no better and more powerful, let alone a more beautiful, lens for the corresponding cameras.
