Château Lafite Rothschild 2022

Château Lafite Rothschild is a red coupage made with 80 to 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5 to 20% Merlot and 0 to 5% Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. It is one of the 5 Bordeaux Premier Grand Cru, and is classified as an AOC Paudillac Premier Grand Cru wine. Château Lafite Rothschild is a winery owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild. The name Lafite comes from the term “la hite”, meaning “hillock”. It is located in the Medoc region, in northeastern Bordeaux. The main house on the estate dates back to the 16th century. The winery's circular room was designed by architect Ricard Bofill and opened in 1987. The Château Lafite Rothschild vineyards have calcareous, sandy and gravelly soils, which means they facilitate water drainage and therefore the ripening of the grapes.
