Corriente 2021 - Bodega Lanzaga - Telmo Rodríguez

Corriente is a tribute to an unofficial classification of wines used in the early 20th century: 'Corriente' wines (common, everyday wines) versus 'Selecto' wines (selected wines). Selecto is a blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Garnacha grapes with a handful of white grapes. The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete, then aged for a year in a mixture of concrete, barrel and cask. It differs from 'LZ' in that it is aged in oak barrels. It's fresh, with hints of black berries and red fruit. The tannins are moderate, with a touch of spice and a spicy mineral and floral finish.
