Creative Studio Oil Pastels Box Of 12

These are A lot of fun and the beautiful coloring and blend well together. I’ve definitely enjoyed them with my mixed media artwork.

I was expecting theses pencils to blend well since they are oil pastels but they do not blend well at all. I tried blending with my finger and with a stump but it only cause the pastel to react by piling and removing pigment. Who wants crumbs on their art work?

I’d say you get what you pay for with these but I know the craypas of my youth were similar price point to these and blended and layered much better. I gave these away to some young kids who might enjoy them. But they weren’t workable for my purposes.

I like to use these as foundation color for thicker, more viscous oil pastels to cover. For what little these cost, very little, I feel free to teach with them or use them to cover larger areas without worrying about using them up on a single painting.
