El Reventón 2023

El Reventón is a red wine crafted by Alejandro Vigil, Adrianna Catena y Gearóid Lane in the Sierra de Gredos, under the auspices of the D.O. Cebreros. It is produced from ancient vineyards, approximately 80-90 years old, of the Garnacha variety planted in the Valle del Reventón, in the small village of Cebreros. El Reventón is an exceedingly narrow valley with very limited sunlight, and the vineyards are situated at an altitude of 900 metres, on quartz slate and red clay soils. This is an area with a harsh climate, enduring extremely cold winters. The result is exceptionally fresh wines, made from grapes that are not overly ripened. Vigil adheres to an entirely respectful form of agriculture, grounded in the principles of organic farming, and employs a minimally interventionist approach in winemaking, striving to convey the terroir's typicity to the fullest extent.
