A classic ultra premium Russian vodka, Stolichnaya Elit is made using freeze filtration, which was patented by the SPI Group (one of the world's largest drinks companies, and also the owners of Stoli). The process involves filtering the vodka at -18 degrees Celsius. The result is a stunningly smooth vodka with an wonderful flavour of aniseed and spice. There can't be many of you out there who haven't heard of the brand Stolichnaya and most of us are aware that it's Russian. But did you know that Stolichnaya is translated to mean capital city whilst some suggest that it might actually simply mean'Table Vodka'. Also, the image on the label is that of Hotel Moskva and a Metro station in Moscow (Another great Pub Quiz fact) Hints of charcoal meld with an oily, creamy palate. Very supple and refined.
