FINCA EL OTERO 2019 - ASTER

In 1989, when the La Rioja Alta group decided to establish a new winery in the DO Ribera del Duero, they did something simple yet fundamental: they listened. They listened to the local farmers and viticulturists, custodians of ancestral knowledge, who pointed out the parcels of highest quality. Among them stands out the El Otero estate, a vineyard located in Anguix (Burgos) on sandy-loam soils with low fertility at an altitude of 830 metres, where each vine seems to breathe calmly. Here, Áster Finca El Otero is born, a high-end red wine that is only released in the finest vintages. Made from tinta del país, the queen grape of the Ribera del Duero, each cluster is carefully tended and handpicked, respecting the natural rhythm of the vines to the fullest. Only the finest bunches reach the winery, where alcoholic fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks, followed by an extended ageing process in French oak barrels.
