These are single coil designs that are machine wound and calibrated with a magnetic field to produce twice the output inductance of a normal single coil, giving each set of pickups their own style. This particular winding has the added advantage of keeping the ohm value about the same as an old-style wound single coil. Each pickup is designed for a specific position to match the increasing width between the strings and produce the ideal power for that position. All pickups are wax sealed to reduce unwanted noise.
