A deep, garnet red in colour. The bouquet shows intense aromas of mature black and red berries, blackcurrants, raspberries, spices (nutmeg, black pepper, cloves). The palate is rounded, dry, with strong flavours of ripe blackberries, black plums, soft berries and spices. The finish is soft and delicate spicy undertones. From a stony plateau outside Nîmes, this is an exuberantly fruity grenache-syrah blend from the excellent Michel Chapoutier and very full-bodied. Costiéres de Nîmes is the most southerly appellation of the Rhone, and La Ciboise is the name of Michel's grandfather’s home, which was the energetic centre of the Chapoutier family & friends, and this wine is intended to be enjoyed with friends and family to celebrate everyday life. The ripe fruit and soft spices come through with pronounced yet soft, delicate tannins.
