The water in the reservoir is wicked upwards into the soil around the plant roots with the bag of Vermiculite included with each planter helping this process. The water reservoir is fed by a filler tube which also houses a water level gauge so you can see at a glance when the water needs topping up. Adjustable mounting brackets are included so the planters can be hung from a balcony rail.
