The InReach Mini 2 from Garmin is a robust, small and lightweight GPS communication and navigation system. It is the smallest GPS offered by Garmin as it measures no more than 9.9 cm high by 5.17 cm wide. Its weight of 100 grams makes it one of the lightest two-way satellite communication systems. It passes MIL-STD-810-G tests for impact and thermal shock resistance.The InReach Mini 2 has two satellite functionalities. The first GPS allows you to receive data about your position or to follow a route. The second, known as IRIDIUM technology allows you to receive and send messages, share your location and contact emergency services when you press the SOS button. You can also synchronise your device with your phone's contact list to reach anyone from anywhere.When you go on an adventure with the InReach Mini 2 you get 100% global coverage, GEOS-managed SOS tracking, 30 days battery life (in tracking every 30 minutes tracking mode) and you can quickly reassure your loved ones with real-time tracking.The InReach Mini 2 also allows you to find weather forecasts for your position in the world, as well as for the future stages of your itinerary thanks to the Earthmate app. The Earthmate app allows you, when paired with your smartphone or tablet (Apple or Android), to have access to more detailed maps and aerial views without limits. You can also store and plan your trips on the cloud. It is possible to send and receive InReach messages among compatible Garmin devices. Compared to the InReach Mini, the Inreach Mini 2 is compatible with the Garmin Explore™ Mobile app and features the Tracback® Function, which brings you back to your starting point the same way you got there - handy if you're lost!
