The product is simply too cheaply made. We have it in all the sinks in the house and now, in the third year, they are all broken because the plastic film has come off. Not at all resource-friendly. Annoying!

My first 1-star review, but it's well deserved. This valve cover consists of a few grams of plastic and a narrow rubber seal.
