Geometric Patterns from Patchwork Quilts: And How to Draw Them

In this work, the author has collected together a set of designs from modern patchwork quilts and they are illustrated with full colour photographs.Also included are interesting patterns taken from many Cosmati floors, themselves inspired by Greek, Roman and Byzantine designs.Most quilts are rectangular in shape and they serve as a natural and inspiring canvas for designers with a strong sense of geometry and mathematics. Analysis of the designs using clear drawings provides designers and artists with ideas and techniques for their own work.
