HIGH-TEMPERATURE RESISTANT REFRACTORY MIX: GIRtech CONTACT DRYMIX is a professional-grade refractory mortar designed for masonry and lining of fireplaces, stoves, fireboxes, ovens, and heating units. Withstands extreme temperatures up to 3000°F (1648°C), providing long-lasting performance and structural integrity in high-heat environments. EASY TO USE - JUST ADD WATER: This dry powder mix is simple to prepare-just mix with water before application. For best results, wet bricks before use to improve adhesion. Ideal joint thickness is 0.11-0.15 inches (3-4 mm). Apply with a trowel for a smooth, even finish. STRONG JOINTS THROUGH PROPER FIRING: Unlike cement-based mortars, this clay-based refractory mortar requires firing to develop strength. Let masonry dry at 64-72°F (18-22°C) for 48 hours before gradually igniting. Full sintering occurs at 2190°F, with minimum strength achieved at 750-1110°F (400-600°C). ⚠️ IMPORTANT USAGE INSTRUCTIONS: Avoid moisture and weather exposure during drying. Do not paint, plaster, or tile until the structure is fully dried and fired. Fine cracks may appear after drying-this is normal and does not affect structural integrity.
