Global Governance of Space Cyber Security: Regulatory and Institutional Aspects

The book explores the regulatory and institutional aspects of global governance of space cybersecurity. Focusing on the regulatory aspects, this book argues that the current international law cannot handle the threats posed by malicious cyber and space activities, as regulatory gaps exist owing to terminological ambiguities and legal loopholes.A law-making process in the space field is proposed with a focus on developing soft law instruments through multistakeholder platforms.To enhance the implementation and enforcement of laws concerning space cybersecurity, it is crucial to emphasise the roles of international organisations and industries.Furthermore, empowering existing international institutions with supervisory powers and promoting national legislation and domestic judicial systems are feasible approaches to enhance compliance with the law.
