Oiling the cricket bat blade & edges maintains moisture levels within the blade, reducing the chances of cracking and splitting STEP 1 - Evenly apply a small amount of bat oil to a soft cloth and apply an even coat to the bat in repeated forward movements moving down the blade & edges in line with the grain avoiding any stickers or the splice area You can visually ensure there is even coverage by holding up towards the light. If any areas missed, reply apply as above STEP 2 - Allow bat to dry for 24 hours before use. It is possible to remove any oil that has not been absorbed using very fine sand paper (180-220 ‘grit’ is recommended)
