Hoya Creative Filter Sparkle 4x – 4-cross pattern on point light sources – 55mm

The Hoya Sparkle 4x is a 55mm screw-in creative effect filter that turns point light sources, such as stars, street lights, reflections on water or sunlight through leaves, into a moderately sized four-point cross pattern. Unlike a conventional cross filter it keeps the beams short and gently enhances the light source itself, so the effect adds sparkle without taking over the picture. It is well suited to night-sky photography, where brighter stars are rendered as four-pointed stars. Where there are no strong point lights in the frame, the filter gives a soft, dreamy effect that suits portrait, flower and landscape photography. The front frame rotates so you can set the angle of the cross. The effect appears from single point sources; the strength of the light, the focal length and the aperture all change how it looks. Multi-coated glass. Fits lenses with a 55mm filter thread.
