The higher potassium content promotes strong stems - critical for plants that produce large, heavy flower heads that can snap weak growth. Nitrogen is calibrated to encourage healthy growth without producing the leggy, floppy stems that too much nitrogen causes in hydrangeas. IMPORTANT - THIS FEED DOES NOT CHANGE HYDRANGEA COLOUR Hydrangea flower colour - blue or pink - is determined by soil pH and aluminium availability, not by the NPK feed. This fertiliser nourishes and strengthens your hydrangeas to produce the best possible blooms in their natural colour for your soil. To change pink hydrangeas to blue, use a dedicated hydrangea colourant with aluminium sulphate separately. This feed maximises the quality and quantity of flowers in whichever colour your soil naturally produces. SUITABLE FOR ALL HYDRANGEA TYPES - BORDERS, POTS, CONTAINERS & GARDEN BEDS Effective for all hydrangea species - Hydrangea macrophylla (mophead and lacecap), Hydrangea paniculata, Hydrangea arborescens, and climbing hydrangeas. Works equally well for established garden border hydrangeas and for container-grown specimens on patios and terraces where nutrients are quickly depleted by watering. For established plants, apply as a top dressing in spring - rake or fork into the top surface of the soil around the base and water in thoroughly. In dry weather, water well after application to ensure nutrients reach the root zone.
