Iridium 9603 Short Burst Data Transceiver

The new Iridium 9603 is Iridium's latest transceiver. The 9603 is the smallest form factor of any commercial satellite transceiver currently available and is only half the size of the Iridium 9602. The Iridium 9603 is a revolution in the Libra. The compact transceiver is the smallest commercially available two-way satellite data modem in the world. It is specifically designed for users who want to build smaller devices and still want the benefits of global coverage. The Iridium SBD 9603 is a single-board core transceiver in black box format. The interfaces of the device are provided via a single, multi-pole interface connection and an antenna connection with additional application functions for the end user (e.g. GPS, microprocessor-based logic control, digital and analog inputs and outputs). The SBD 9603 does not contain or require a SIM card. It can be integrated into a variety of wireless data applications or retrofitted into existing pure SBD applications. The Iridium 9603 supports Iridium's short burst data function, but not voice, circut, switched data or short message (SMS) services.
