Does what it should

It worked faster than expected. Only with a partial water change did I see a drop of 5 mg l⁻¹. With bio‑nitrate in combination with filter bacteria, I then reduced the level from about 25 mg l⁻¹ to 10 mg l⁻¹ in two weeks, and it kept dropping.
