Johnsons Broad Bean the Sutton Seeds is a traditional dwarf variety with an extremely useful compact habit making them ideal for small gardens, exposed sit's and even containers. Each plant produces three to four sturdy stems with clusters of 15cm pods containing full flavoured white beans. High in vitamin C and dietary fibre these beans are an excellent addition to salads, soups and stews. Easy to grow and versatile, peas and beans make a delicious and nutritious addition to any meal. As well as being a traditional side, legumes also provide a terrific source of protein for a vegan diet. Peas and broad beans prefer cool conditions but need to be grown in full sun or partial shade. Short on space? Many varieties are well suited to growing in plant pots. Ideally you do not want to overcook either peas or beans, keeping just a touch of crispness.
