In 1916, Juan Gil Giménez established his winery, an eponymous company where he sold high-quality bulk wines. Little did Juan Gil know that a century later, and four generations down the line, his enterprise would be reestablished and emerge as one of the most promising wineries in Spain. From this venture, in which seven of Juan's great-grandchildren embarked on this project, Juan Gil Etiqueta Plata 12 meses was born, an organic red wine that ranks among the top wines of the DO Jumilla. The southeast of the Peninsula-between Jumilla, Montealegre del Castillo, Fuente Álamo, Ontur, Hellín, Albatana, and Tobarra-serves as the backdrop for Juan Gil Etiqueta Plata 12 meses. Specifically, Juan Gil owns a unique estate in this area, with vines over 40 years old, thriving on limestone and stony soils, at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level. The most cultivated variety, naturally, is monastrell, the undisputed queen of the denomination, which undergoes a year of ageing in French oa
