Macallan Folio 2 was the second release of the planned 24-part Archival Series (currently on its eighth instalment), created to celebrate The Macallan’s advertising campaigns from the 1970s to the 1990s. The series - in particular the rarely available first through fourth editions - is much sought-after by collectors. Folio 2 features the beautiful watercolour art of Sara Midda, who was commissioned to illustrate The Macallan’s first promotional brochure as an art student in 1975, her work later becoming synonymous with the brand’s visual identity. It depicts Easter Elchies House - the distillery’s spiritual home. Released in 2017 as a limited edition of 2000 bottles, originally available only from the distillery itself. Bottled at 43% abv and elegantly presented in a book-shaped tin box also containing a commemorative illustrated booklet. Please note: this bottle is from a private collection.
