Maremma Toscana Riserva 2021 Tenuta Belguardo - Mazzei

Produced from the vineyards of Tenuta Belguardo in Grosseto, the main town of the Italian Maremma in southern Tuscany, the Maremma Toscana Riserva 2021 offers a pure expression of this unspoilt natural terroir, on the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Made from Cabernet Sauvignon and a small percentage of Cabernet Franc, this powerful yet elegant wine is the Belguardo estates most important red cru. The maritime microclimate from which it benefits, the soil composed mainly of sandstone, the delicate hand-harvesting and 18 months ageing in small French oak barrels (70% of which are new), followed by a four-month finish in concrete vats, lend it volume, finesse and character. On the palate, it offers aromas of ripe fruit, cherry and plum, and sweet spices, with hints of mocha, leather and vanilla. Warm and enveloping, it unfolds with velvety, fruity tannins.
