Marqués de Cáceres Reserva 2019

Marqués de Cáceres Reserva is a red wine made by the winery Marqués de Cáceres in D.O. Rioja. This family-run winery offers traditional and quality wines. It is located in Cenicero, a town in the north of Rioja. Marqués de Cáceres Reserva is made with the varieties Tempranillo, Red Grenache and Graciano. The grapes come from a selection of plots of old vines between 25 and 35 years old from Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. The vineyards have a very low yield, of around 35 hl/ha, on average. The soil where the vineyards are planted is predominantly clayey-calcareous. The harvest is completely manual, plot by plot. For its production, the bunches are crushed and destemmed for a fermentation at a controlled temperature that starts at 10ºC and ends at 28ºC. After this process, a long maceration of 25 days is carried out with the skins. This way, the tannic structure and the extraction of aromas and colour are enhanced.
