Physocarpus 'Little Joker' is a compact, hardy ninebark with striking dark burgundy-green foliage and creamy-pink flower clusters from May to June. Reaching around 50cm (20ins) high with a 30cm (12ins) spread, this variety suits smaller gardens, borders, patios, and containers. It flowers from late spring into early summer, attracts pollinators, and offers autumn interest with tinted leaves and decorative berries. Low-maintenance and winter-hardy, it establishes well in moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Plant in a hole twice as deep and three times as wide as the rootball, firm the soil, and water thoroughly to help it settle in.
