Marshalls Garden Sweetcorn Seeds 'mirai Picnic' F1 20 Seeds Early Super Sweet

Mirai Picnic F1 sweetcorn produces very sweet, succulent kernels on medium-sized cobs, ideal for eating raw or barbecuing. Each plant typically yields two well-filled cobs about 15cm long, making this an early-maturing choice suited to smaller plots, raised beds and vegetable gardens. Sow indoors in March-April: place seeds 2.5cm deep in pre-watered compost at 18-21°C (65-70°F) and keep the compost moist. Sow outdoors from May: sow 2.5cm deep in the final position in blocks spaced 45cm (18in) apart and water well to establish. Plant out after hardening off in blocks of at least 4x4, spacing plants 45cm apart with 45cm between rows. Protect from frost, mulch to retain moisture and stability, and cover with extra soil if roots appear at the surface. Do not grow other sweetcorn varieties nearby to avoid cross-pollination. Harvest in summer when tassels turn brown and kernels are creamy when pierced, typically in August-September. Grows best in full sun and acid to neutral soil pH.
