Weigela ‘Bristol Ruby’ produces a profusion of deep ruby-red, funnel-shaped flowers in late spring and early summer that attract bees and make excellent cut flowers. This deciduous shrub is fast-growing, hardy and low-maintenance, thriving in sun or partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil. Expect an eventual height of around 2,000 mm.Planting: unpack and, if the weather is favourable, place outside and water. Dig a hole about twice as deep and three times as wide as the rootball; mix in soil improver for heavy soils and add plant feed before backfilling. Place the plant so it sits at the same level as in the pot, firm the soil and water thoroughly.Care: keep well watered and fed while establishing and trim in summer if needed.
