Marshalls Garden Wisteria 'longwood Purple' (Wisteria Frutescens) Compact Hardy Climbing Plant For Containers And Walls

Wisteria frutescens 'Longwood Purple' is a compact, hardy climber that produces masses of unscented purple flower clusters in late spring. Less vigorous than Chinese or Japanese wisterias, it suits smaller gardens and can be grown successfully in a large container or trained over a sunny wall or fence. Plants are sent from our nursery in a pot, ready to plant; if you cannot plant immediately, keep the pot outdoors in a sheltered spot and water regularly. For planting, set the plant at the same level as the pot, backfill with soil improver such as well-rotted manure, firm and water well. Aftercare: water regularly in the first year and during dry spells, feed in spring with a slow-release high-potash feed, and prune in summer and again in January or February to control growth and encourage flowering.
