Like most wool fabrics, merino contains lanolin, which has antibacterial properties. Merino is one of the softest types of wool available due to the finer fibers. Removes moisture (sweat) from the skin, the phenomenon is known as "absorption". The fabric is slightly hydrophobic (the keratin fibers are hydrophobic and hydroficic at one end on the other) so that the user does not feel wet.
