Mariano García, a legendary figure in Spanish oenology, is one of the key contributors to the prestige achieved by the wines of Castilla y León. Founder of the winery Mauro, he has succeeded in positioning wines without a D.O. at the level of the finest from Ribera del Duero. Yet his ambitions extend further, as he has also ventured into producing wines in other regions such as Toro, Bierzo, and Rioja. In the latter denomination, in the D.O.Ca.
