For the 1/4-inch thick rug pad, it is recommended to cut the pad 1 inch to 2 inches shorter than your rug circumference. Floor coverings: For carpets, simply place the rug pad with the felt side down under your carpet. For hard flooring, place the rug pad with the non-slip latex rubber side down under your rug. Recommended use: Large area rugs, over 5' x 8', with latex backing provide the best non-slip functionality. For extra non-slip grip for scatters, runners, and other smaller rug sizes under 5" x 8", it is recommended to use rug tape or non-slip corner tabs to prevent slipping and sliding in high-traffic areas.
