New Works - Atlas Stool, Oak - Oak

John Astbury has been inspired by various influences in the history of architecture, and this is reflected in references to porticoes and colonnades. However, the Atlas stool rests particularly on the fundamental post-and-lintel construction with posts and lintels. Through simple geometry that includes the circle and the square, these basic archetypes combine to create the stool's unique composition and character. A stool that enriches the room with its presence and at the same time is versatile enough to be used for different purposes as a seat or side table.
