The name "Kizu," which means "kiss" in Japanese, emphasizes the delicate connection between the lampshade and the base, creating an almost magical encounter between two sculptural forms. In this particular version, the base is carved from travertine, an elegant stone known for its distinctive tactile texture, natural perforations and soft color gradients. The sandy hues add a light and calm feel, providing a sense of grounding. The travertine-based lamp features an upgraded white Kizu shade that offers improved light output and a glass-like, glossy finish that beautifully harmonizes with the textured stone base.
