These hooks only work with fiber cement board siding. Fiber cement board siding is 1/4 thick. If your siding is thicker, it is not fiber cement board siding and will not work. 1. Make sure you have fiber cement board lap siding. (horizontal boards that overlap each other) 2. Find an area that is at least 3 feet long that does not have nails. 3. Take a standard size screw driver and try to insert the tip between the siding boards and test to see if the board will flex about a ¼ inch to make a gap large enough to insert the hook. 4.
