Parada de Atauta 2022

Parada de Atauta is a red wine crafted by the winery Dominio de Atauta within the DO Ribera del Duero appellation. This winery, established in 1999, is located in the Valle de Atauta (Soria), one of the easternmost regions of Ribera del Duero. Parada de Atauta is produced entirely from the Tinto Fino grape variety. The grapes for Parada de Atauta originate from exceptionally old vineyards, over 60 years of age, with some being pre-phylloxera, as the sandy-limestone soil composition prevents the phylloxera pest from surviving. Additionally, the vines are situated at an altitude of 1000 metres above sea level. The cultivation of the vines largely adheres to biodynamic farming principles, following natural cycles and aiming to minimise intervention in the vine's development. In the production of Parada de Atauta, traditional vinification is employed. Following fermentation and maceration, Parada de Atauta undergoes 12 months of ageing in French oak barrels.
