Pio Cesare Barolo 75cl

Pio Cesare Barolo is a wood-aged red wine made by Pio Cesare with the Nebbiolo variety in the DOCG Barolo, in Piedmont (Italy). Founded in 1881, Pio Cesare is a historic winery and a pioneer in recognising the great potential of Langhe wines, with Barolo and Barbaresco as the main representatives. This is currently the only winery still operating in the municipality of Alba and, with always strictly-limited productions, they produce classic wines with a nod to modernity. Pio Cesare Barolo comes from several family vineyards located in the prestigious terroirs of Serralunga d'Alba, Grinzane Cavour, La Morra, Barolo, Novello, Castiglione Falletto and Monforte. They are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. When the Pio Cesare Barolo grapes reach the winery, they ferment in stainless steel tanks with one month of contact with the skin. The wine is then transferred to French oak
