LIMITED EDITION ISLAY SINGLE MALT Port Askaig 17 Year Old Islay Single Malt is the first in a series of limited annual releases from Port Askaig, with approximately 9000 bottles produced for this release. This inaugural edition, exclusive for 2023, has been matured for a minimum of 17 years in traditional American oak casks, chosen for their quality and unique floral character. NOTES OF WILDFLOWER MEADOWS AND BONFIRE SMOKE This bottling features beautifully balanced notes of wildflower meadows, fresh grass, and vibrant citrus on the nose, with a rising crescendo of bonfire smoke. On the palate there is dark chocolate, salted caramel and vanilla wrapped with a briny, smouldering ash finish. BOTTLED AT CASK STRENGTH The higher ABV of this whisky concentrates the smoky and earthy flavours whilst highlighting the top notes of citrus and spice. In addition, it adds a rich and oily texture as there is less water present in the whisky, coating the mouth and carrying more intense flavours and aromas.
