This is the case with Ruinart, one of the legendary maisons in Reims which, although today it is the oldest house in the Champagne region, actually began in the textile industry. It all started when King Louis XV in 1728 allowed wine to be traded in bottles (previously it could only be done in barrels, making its transport difficult).
